The road race season concluded two weeks ago with the National Youth Championship in Carlow. The club was represented by Aaron Wade and Conor T. Farrell in the U16’s, Caoimhe O’Brien and Leo Gunning in the U15’s, Mark Langtry and Tommy Hogan in the U14’s and Aoife O’Brien in the U13 category. Aoife swept the boards in the girls U13 taking all three gold medals on offer. Caoimhe achieved a podium finish with a bronze medal in the U15 girl’s TT. Luck was not on Aaron’s side in the U16 boy’s Crit and he was denied a podium finish by a whisker, eventually finishing in an excellent fourth place.

Congratulations to Aoife and Coimhe on their medal winning performance and well done to all seven riders who performed with distinction over the weekend. All the riders competed in the three races in their category and their performances were a credit to themselves, their parents, their mentors and their club. The Youths team continues to grow in strength with some fantastic performances this season and we are already looking forward to next season.
