Paul Crowley Finishes 2nd in Rás Clár

Well done to Paul Crowley who was 2nd in the inaugural Rás Clár on Sunday last (July 29th). Paul has been showing some great from recently and with that form the results were never going to be too far away. Speaking with Paul last week I could tell he was really delighted with his result which now leaves him only three points off an upgrade to A2. In what as a very aggressive race from the outset our Wheeler showed he wasn’t afraid to mix it up in the large peleton on the undulating roads around Ennis.

Paul managed to get into the move of the day when he followed a strong Blarney rider up the road, but our man was too strong and the Blarney man wasn’t able to stay with the more powerful Crowley, but with three other riders getting across quick smart, this group settled into a steady rhythm right to the end of the race.

With the race hitting the ‘flame Rouge’ Paul decided to go for a long solo effort but alas to no avail, as he was caught by the eventual winner local man Barry Sutton of DID Dunboyne but still managed to hold off his other breakaway compatriots and take a very impressive 2nd overall.
