Some good performances of late, despite the weather. Lakeside Wheelers were represented in the Enfield GP and Swords GP with results coming from both venues - read on...

Swords GP Sunday 3rd June

With our typical summer weather returning last Sunday (June 3rd) only three brave souls ventured to the Swords GP. In conditions less than favorable, Paul Crowley Dave Fagan and John Murray took to the start line. Dave and Paul were in the A3 group which was set off ahead of the A1/A2 bunch which included Johnny. The chasers took very little time in whittling down the time gap thanks mainly to An Post rider Ronan McLaughlin fresh from his fantastic Ràs ride, who was the eventual winner on the day. Well done to Paul Crowley who put in a superb ride to finish third unplaced A3 rider on the day. Good stuff Paul I believe the drinks were on you last Sunday!

Enfield GP 2012 Wednesday 6th June

Damien O'Brien presented with his prize by Colm Maye

With the midland league 3-day event coinciding with the Clonard CC event, Lakeside Wheelers only had 3 riders on the quick 51 km circuit. With 8 laps to cover it had a feel for a crit about it along country roads. However, all Wheelers riders ended up in the mix at the end when all groups from A4-A1 came together in a bunch sprint and no other than Damien O’Brien, in his first outing as an A3 was first A3 home followed by a half wheel length by Robbie Kenny who was 2nd A3 home. Fair play lads for flying the LSW in a cracking speedy race!
