On Sunday 18th May we had a team of ten in Co. Monaghan for the Emyvale Grand Prix. We were represented in A4 by Aidan Daly, Brendan Lynch, Graham Morgan, Matt Burke and Moss Keane. The race was over 3 laps of a 24km circuit. All the lads put in strong performances with Aidan Daly and Brendan Lynch just outside the points in the Bunch Sprint. Moss Keane was unlucky to puncture 2 km from the finish.

Aisling Flanagan, Michelle O'Halloran and Sonja O'Mahony were competing in round 3 of the Womens National League which was also 3 laps of the 24km circuit. They were all unfortunate to get caught up in a crash on lap 2 which left them out of contention for the remainder of the race. Thankfully they were all fine.

In the A3 race we were represented by Billy Cunnane. This race was over 4 laps of the 24km circuit. There were numerous attacks on each lap but they were all chased down by the eager bunch. On the last lap with approx 20km remaining Billy managed to get into a break of 3 riders and shortly afterwards another 8 riders made it across. This group worked well together and they pulled out a 40 second advantage on the chasing bunch. The break just managed to keep the chasing bunch at bay with Billy getting 4th in the sprint and in doing so got his first 5 points as an A3. Thanks also to Paul Daly who provided race support on the day. Your help was greatly appreciated.
