Naomi and Aaron Wade attended the Youth National Track championships at Sundrive Road this weekend. There was a great turnout with riders from Errigal c.c to Kanturk and the weather held in our favour. They had 3 races each, Naomi had the flying 200 , 500TT ( out of gate ) and a scratch race ( group race for 8 laps ), Aaron had the Flying 200, 250 TT ( out of gate) and a scratch race (group race for 5 laps).
We did not bring home any medals this year but both achieved personal bests in the “standing start TT” race, Aaron 24.29s for the 250m and Naomi 48.87s for the 500m. Aaron was also the fastest U13 on the day so will have his sights set on the U14 medals next year and Naomi qualified for the sprints semi-final being beaten by a girl from Usher C.C. by less than half a wheel, so was very pleased.
Congrats to both on their very strong performances.
