A large contingent of Wheelers headed to county Mayo on Saturday last for the Westportif Cycling Challenge. Riders had a choice of three routes, 80 km, 120 km and 160 km. The 160km route had 5 categorised climbs and offer a good test for all of the 600 participants.

The route took in some breathtaking scenery as riders passed by Croagh Patrick, Mweelrea (Connacht’s highest mountain), Doolough Lake, Delphi, Killary Fjord, Ashleigh Falls, Leenane village and the shores of Lough Mask in Tourmakeady.

Needless to say our ladies and gents enjoyed a great weekend, did us proud and all completed the route.
