On Thursday 10th July Laois CTC hosted round 10 of the Midland League in Emo. A challenging 13km hilly circuit to be completed 4 times awaited all the riders. The weather conditions were yet again prefect at sign on at Treacy's Bar and Restaurant on the Heath.

First race off on the evening was the AB category. The B's containing 12 riders got a 2.5 min advantage on the chasing A group of 16 riders. The A's got to work quickly and caught the B's after 1.5 laps. There were a few attempted breakaways with Keith Fox of Shannonside CC managing to get clear on lap 3 and stayed away to take the win. There were numerous breaks from the main bunch which were all covered by the Wheelers. Next race off on the evening was the CD category. The D group containing 3 riders got a 5 minute advantage on the chasing C group of 25 riders. The D's were caught on lap 1 and the bunch stayed together to the finish. In the bunch sprint Moss Keane was 2nd and Derek Sheeran 6th. Well done all.
