OE Bikes Midlands League Finale

Just a quick note to thank and congratulate everyone or another wonderful year’s racing at the OE Bikes Midlands League. The league included cyclists from clubs from all over the midlands including the likes of Lakeside Wheelers Mullingar, Longford Cycling Club, Shannonside Cycling Club, Streamstown Cycling Club and others. Thanks to everyone who gave their time to marshal and for helping with the organising of our 2 events hosted by Lakeside Wheelers in Dalystown. Without this excellent support, it would not be possible to run these events. Thanks to Steven Franzoni from OE Bikes in Mullingar for his continued sponsorship of our league and also to the Lakeside Wheelers Committee for their support throughout the season. Great to see so many newcomers this year. It was challenging at times to keep the racing competitive but I think as a collective the year this was very successful. We are delighted to announce that Mikey Flaherty Lakeside Wheelers took first place in the A category. With Ian Lambden taking second in the B race and Moss Keane taking 3rd. Stewart Cox took the combativity award in the A race.

SPROCKET ROCKETS UPDATE

The Club recently introduced the Sprocket Rocket programme for children. The aim of the programme is to provide a strong cycling foundation in skills development and foster enjoyment in cycling. The emphasis of the programme over the coming 4 weeks will be to nurture and develop pedalling, balance, braking and cornering skills. The coaches from the Club have undergone extensive training with Cycling Ireland accredited tutors and have the necessary Garda vetting and Safeguarding certification. As can be evidenced from the photo the kids had a very enjoyable first session and are all geared up for next week’s activities.
