Lakeside Wheelers tackle the Tour of the Heartlands

11 Lakeside Wheelers headed to Athlone to take on the Tour of the Heartlands. This was a 100kms jaunt through the heart of Roscommon and parts of east Galway. With a fairly flat route with only one minor climb the pace was hot for the 25, 28 and 30 kph plus groups. All three groups covered the course well ahead of their average with good banter along the way between cyclists from many the clubs from Westmeath, Offaly, Roscommon and Galway who took part. Many thanks to Shannonside Wheelers for their excellent hosting and marshalling skills as usual.

Lakeside Wheelers Produce Great Results in the Midlands League

Last Thursday evening the Lakeside Wheelers Race Team competed in round 2 of the OE Midlands League. This race was hosted by our friends from Lynx Cycling club on a hilly circuit. It was a fantastic night’s racing with the Lakeside Wheelers Race Team doing very well in all categories. A RACE 1ST RUAIRI WOODS, 3RD MIKEY FLAHERTY, 4TH STEWART COX, 7TH TOSH KIERNAN.
