A hardy bunch of racers headed to North County Dublin in Ballbriggan today to do battle in the A4 race over 55kms. A big field departed for three laps of a hilly and exposed route. The Lakeside Wheelers crew fared well in the early stages of the race, keeping in the main group over the first two laps. Worthy of a mention is Michelle O'Halloran and Sonja O'Mahony who raced their first A4 race of the year and managed to stay in contact till the last lap, Michelle picking up first lady after an aggressive final accent to the finish.

The boys were riding strong at the head of the pack with new boy to racing David Casserly picking up a top ten finish in his first race. Support crew for the day Steven Franzoni and Eoin O'Donohoe were on hand to dish out climbing advice and support. Also present and racing were Eoghan Kevlihan, Matt Burke, Roy Carey and Aidan Daly. The Wheelers were represented in the A3 race by Alan Nevin.

Meanwhile local boy Damien Shaw (who rides for Aqua Blue in Kerry) continued his strong season start with sixth place in the A1/A2 race and Eoin Lynch now riding for Dublin club DID finished with the main bunch in the A3 race.
