The race season continued on this weekend with a strong Lakeside Wheelers contingent heading to sunny Bohermeen in Co Meath. The weather defied the forecast and stayed dry and clear all day. First up were the under age racers. In the under 14 category John Boyan and Aaron Wade put in a big effort all the way to the line. David Boyne managed the first result of the day with 7th place in the under 16 race.

Next up were the ladies, a very competitive and aggressive race ensued. Early on Sonja O'Mahony broke away and spent the next few laps holding off the main peleton. With one lap to go she was reeled in and some big attacks from Aisling Flanagan failed to stick, leaving the race to finish with a bunch sprint for third place. A big push saw Aisling rewarded for her early efforts with third place.

Also riding in the A4 race was David Casserly. David Fagan made his first open race appearance in a year in the A3 race.

Worthy of a big congratulations is ex Wheeler Eoin Lynch who took the A3 race in great style after a solo break.

On Saturday Damien Shaw took the biggest win of his career in the iconic Shay Elliot race in Wicklow. Stuart Cox was also in Wicklow riding in the Wheelers colours.
