Lakeside Wheelers were well represented at Rás an Laois last Sunday which was hosted by Ossory Cycling Club. In the A3 race David Casserly once again showed that he is still improving with a very fine third place finish. This was great result for David in what was a very tough race with extremely windy conditions. As yet it is unconfirmed but the points that accompany this result may see the Castlepollard man upgraded to the A2 category.

Well done to all Wheelers in recent weeks and let’s hope these great performances are only a taste of what’s to come this at this year’s races.

As already posted, there was another great result for one of our most promising youths last week with Aoife O’Brien winning in Loughrea. Aoife was competing in the U/14 event and went on a solo ride from the off which saw her cross the line completely out of sight of her chasers.

In the ladies race Aishling Flanagan came home in a very creditable 6th position which is another great result for the Wheelers girls who are claiming top ten positions on a weekly basis now.

A special mention to Eoghan Kevlihan for a speedy recovery from his injuries which he received when he crashed in the A3 race.
