Club Social & Awards

Our annual club social and awards evening was held on Saturday evening last, December 3rd in the Annebrook Hotel, Mullingar.

It proved to be another great evening's entertainment for everyone. Live music and finger food along with a few novelty items being passed around meant things were never dull.

Members from all the cycling groupings came out to have a good night.

Congratulations to our three award winners on the evening.

They were:-

Club person of the year:- Mark Horohoe

Most improved rider:- David Lally

Best newcomer:- Martin Nally

Well done to all three deserving recipients.

CX Race Report

On Sunday 4th of December Ian Lambden made the trip to Armagh for Rd 8 of the Ulster cyclocross league. Sitting in a field of around 40 riders, Ian was gridded on the second row for the start but unfortunately immediately dropped a chain which had him in last place going into the first corner. Showing huge determination and with six laps remaining he managed to pass riders as he worked his way from last place up to 4th by the end but unfortunately just couldn’t catch the top 3 who were working well together to stay clear. Really a great result given the circumstances.

Our next get-together will be the Turkey trot on December 27th, leaving the barracks at 10.00 for Tyrrellspass Golf Club.
