In the last couple of weeks Lakeside Wheelers riders were to the fore in different races both locally and nationally. Youth rider Sean Kennedy got up for a great 2nd place in the latest round of the Midland League staged by Longford CC. This was a tough C/D race with a 2km climb to the finish. Ian Lambden also fared very well coming in 5th behind the winner from Shannonsie. Seánie has had a run of bad luck in the last few months but with his recent win in Kilkenny and now a good 2nd in the MIL he is showing some good progress which shows that, if you accept the bad luck, you can enjoy the successes even more!

The very popular race league staged in the famous motor racing circuit at Mondello saw a great performance by Tommy Casserly who showed good form as he sprinted for 4th in the latest round last week. This was a fine performance by Tommy who is clearly enjoying his cycling this year.

Last Sunday the Meath Grand Prix was hosted by Navan Road Club and this brought another good result with Michelle O’Halloran getting up for 3rd place in a hotly contested ladies race.

Well done to all members and hopefully there will be more successes as the season passes.

Congratulations to Tommy Casserrly on his fourth place in Mondello
