Wheelers do their bit for the Fleadh

Lakeside Wheelers members put their shoulder to the wheel by helping out at the Fleadh this week. Their task over the 3 days of competition on August 6,7 and 8 was to service the 16 competition venues spread over schools, halls and hotels throughout the town. They were required to courier results from these venues to the Fleadh head office in the centre of town. This was achieved seamlessly by our fit and agile young and not so young members who demonstrated their silken skills while navigating the vast crowds throughout the town. Well done lads take a bow. Niall McDermott one of the dream team is shown here with a broad smile on his face awaiting ceili band and groupai ceoil results in the Park Hotel. The Park Hotel was a huge venue with crowds of over 2000 attendees each day.

C Group Notes

Our C group tackled a nice 100 KMs route this week. Starting from O’Briens Centra Mullingar they took the ring road to the Park Hotel. Then via Curraghmore they headed for Killucan and on into Ballivor. Next they cruised into Trim for the cup of cha. Well fed and watered they headed for Athboy and Delvin where they turned south for home. Well done lads and lassies a mighty spin of a Saturday.
