It was another busy weekend for the racers with lads and ladies out in three different events. Tommy Casserly went to the Lucan GP on Saturday and finished with the main bunch after a tough race. On Sunday the Wheelers were at two races with Joe Kenny and Dave Casserly at the Seven Springs GP in Loughrea where Joe managed to get up for a fine 8th position in the A4 sprint. Dave competed in the A3 event which was handicapped with the A1’s and A2’s and raced very well to finish in the bunch.

One of the main races on the Irish calendar, the Des Hanlon, was staged in Carlow and attracted a large group of LSW riders. The lads were represented by Mossy Keane, Aidan Daly, Aidan Gorry and Alan Connolly whilst the girls had a strong team with Michelle O’Halloran, Sonja O’Mahony, Aishling Flanagan and Nicole Gorry. Once again Michelle O’Halloran was in the shake-up with a great 4th position whilst Aishling got 7th overall as well as winning a hill prime.

Alan Connolly managed another good result with 7th in the A4 race so it appears that all the winter training is beginning to pay off for all the Lakeside Wheelers racers. Well done to all who competed and apologies if I have omitted anyone.

Last but by no means least, congratulations to Aoife O'Brien on her stunning solo victory in Loughrea on Saturday. Well done Aoife, you did us proud.
