Racing notes Sunday 20^th September 2020

The 2020 cycling track nationals have come to an end where Aoife O’Brien took part in the track nationals last weekend in Sundrive Co. Dublin.

She had three individual races,

Flying 200

The 500 time trial

Scratch race

She worked hard and it paid off as she walked away with three gold national titles.

This brings Aoife’s youth racing to a close with her moving up to junior ranks next year.

Congratulations to Aoife on her well earned wins last weekend form Lakeside Wheelers.

This weekend there was more racing from the Leinster Championships which was held in Kilcullen Co. Kildare and hosted by Athy Wheelers. Caoimhe O’Brien took the bronze medal finishing third in the ladies race and Brendan “Tosh” Kiernan finishing fourth in the men’s M50 race. A great achievement for both racers. Aidan Daly was caught up in a crash in the A4 race and had to retire early.
