In recent months the club has been involved in an initiative with the Intel technology company which has yielded some very welcome funding for the youths sector.

This project is a novel idea and relates to Lakeside Wheelers members who are Intel employees being assigned to a system which recognises their connection to the club. The funding arises from Intel employees logging their voluntary hours with sports clubs against a company record which helps to accumulate finances for the members’ chosen clubs. The company recently held a presentation night which Youths coordinator Camillus Farrell was invited to on behalf of Lakeside Wheelers. This was a very enjoyable evening and according to Camillus the Intel organisation looked after him and other attendees extremely well.

The funding received will most likely be used to help cover the costs of the future development of the many youths in Lakeside Wheelers who have been flying the club colours all over the country and abroad over the last few years.

The committee would like to extend sincere thanks to members Phil Wade, Charlie Sheridan and the Intel Corporation for facilitating this initiative.
