On Thursday 13th August we had a team of three head to the leafy suburban setting of Rathfarnham village to compete in round one of the Fixx Supercross Cup.

For anyone unfamiliar with this type of event, Cyclocross racing is a short race taking place in parks and fields. It started life in Europe as a winter sport and finance generator for cycling pros in their off season and is very much spectator friendly. The racing takes place on short laps and can include obstacles such as steps, sand or boards to make you dismount and run.

We were represented in the B race by Paul Crowley, Peter Rimmer and Richie Lenehan. All the lads put in a strong performance with Richie Lenehan unlucky to suffer a mechanical while lying in second place which left him out of contention. Here's looking forward to round two.
