Breaking news in recent weeks revealed that Damien Shaw has been brought on board to coach and mentor the Youths Racing team for 2018. This is a great development not only for the younger members but also for the club in general. There is not much to say about the former An Post Chainreaction rider that is not already known but with the credentials and reputation that accompanies him there is no doubt that the future of the club is in good hands.

Damien has been taking sessions with the Youths on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings since he took over one month ago and he has stated that he is very impressed with the structure already in place. Having a clubhouse is a major advantage according to Damien, as it allows training to go ahead even during really inclement weather such as the frost and snow we have been experiencing lately.

The goals for the year are to prepare the Youths for racing but also to improve them as athletes in general. Damien will be liaising with the mentors who are already in place and who, to date have done an excellent job with the younger members of the club.

Best wishes to all concerned in this new venture and we will be watching out for performances during the coming season.
