On the Sunday over the May Bank Holiday weekend around thirty members of Lakeside Wheelers were involved in meeting the Cycle Against Suicide group for its entry into Mullingar. The Wheelers had arranged to rendezvous in Ballynacarrigy and lead the main bunch back into town where they got a warm welcome at St.Finians College.

Lakeside Wheelers members, “Ski” Morgan and Dave Byrne had participated in the entire 10 day cycle with “Ski” being honoured with the gong for “Best Marshall” along the way. The riders overnighted in Mullingar and were once again escorted by some Wheelers out of town on Monday morning as far as they departed on the final leg of their trip to Swords.

The organisers and participants of the Cycle Against Suicide campaign were extremely grateful to all the members of Lakeside Wheelers who joined them over the two days.
