With the feel of autumn in the air it's probably not surprising that we're reporting on the final stages of the summer league events.  The Midland league has come to a conclusion with its customary team trial as has the Midland Time Trial series.  It's been a good season in the midland leagues for Lakeside Wheelers riders and the final legs were no exception.

Curtain Comes Down on Midland League
The Midland League came to a conclusion on Thursday 21st August in Horseleap with the Team TT and Prizegiving. A 20km route from Kilbeggan to Moate and back to Horseleap awaited all teams. Well done to Laois CTC who won with a time of 28.55. We had 3 Wheelers teams competing with Team 'E' (Tosh, Graham, Billy and Moss) placing 3rd on the evening with a time of 29.51. Afterwards we all retired to Paddy's Bar for the all important refreshments and prizegiving. After 14 rounds of the League Stuart Cox was 2nd and Myself 7th overall in the AB category. Moss Keane was 4th and Derek Sheerin was 8th overall in the CD category. Thanks to Buckley Cycles, Athlone and Longford for sponsoring the prizes. Here's looking forward to 2015.
