It's been a busy few weeks for the Lakeside Wheelers racing squad at both senior, junior and youth level as can be seen from thr updates below...

Midland League
It took a little while for Lakeside Wheelers to click at this year’s Midland League but in recent weeks there have been two wins from two so, it appears the Mullingar lads are on a roll.

The Dalystown round of the Midland League was held on a fine evening for racing recently and it proved to be a successful event for Jack Moran. Jack won the C/D race from fellow Wheeler David Lally who followed him home a close second. Well done lads.

Last Thursday all roads led to Legan in Co. Longford where it was a clean sweep for Wheelers in the A/B race. Winner on the night was Richie Lenihan followed by Brendan Kiernan in second with Stephen Corroon close behind in fourth. Ian Lambden and Shane Jessop were also in the top ten finishing fifth and sixth respectively.

Other Racing Updates
In other racing news Ian Lambden has been upgraded to A3 following strong performances in Dunsany and Emyvale in recent weeks. Well done Ian, you are now getting the results your hard work deserves. Ian  was also in action at the Orwell promotion last weekend. This was Ian’s first A3 race and he acquitted himself very well despite some mechanical problems on stages two and three. Well done Ian, keep plugging away and your day will come.

Caoimhe O’Brien took a fine 2nd place in the Ladies event at Emyvale whilst Asia Bula competed well and finished in the bunch.

Aaron Wade Wins in Mondello Again
Aaron Wade was on the podium in Mondello yet again after another great win on the Kildare motor racing track last Tuesday evening. This is Aaron’s second win in as many weeks which shows his current run of form is not showing any signs of dipping any time soon. Congratulations Aaron.

Both Aaron and Conor T. Farrell were also in action over the Holiday weekend at the Orwell Two-Day. The lads rode very well considering they were up against the A1/A2 men so it was a credit to them finishing in 15th and 23rd positions respectively on General Classification. These performances ensured that the lads finished the Junior classification in 4th and 8th places so, well done to you both.

Ladies:
Aoife O’Brien was in action midweek at the Corkagh Park Ladies races. No stranger to doing amazing things on the bike, Aoife rode the B race and finished in 1st place but not satisfied she got permission to ride the A race straight after the B event. In what was a very impressive performance, she managed to finish this more difficult race in 3rd so well done Aoife and keep the Blue, Red and Yellow colours flying.

Aaron Wade mixing it with the best at the weekend.Mixing it with the best over the weekend in the Orwell Stage Race.
