Lakeside Wheelers Host Round Three of Midland League

posted 16 May 2016, 14:42 by Kevin Monaghan
Lakeside Wheelers hosted the third round of the MIL last Thursday night at a sun drenched Dalystown. With a stiff Easterly wind to contend with, both races (A/B and C/D) went off very well.

In the A/B race the catch was made on lap 2 but a small breakaway formed with Wheelers’ Robbie Kenny and Ken Berry involved. On lap 3 Kenny had slipped back to the bunch but Berry maintained his place to contest the uphill sprint finish and claim a fine 4th place.

In the C/D race the catch was never made as the D group stayed away to cross the line unchallenged with a Longford CC rider claiming the spoils.

Well done to all who participated and a big thank you to all who volunteered to organise and marshal the event.
