The junior racing season kicked off on Saturday 16th March in Corkagh Park Co. Dublin. We were represented in the U16 category by Conor Canton.

Corkagh Park is Ireland’s only purpose built Cycle track, a testimony to the vision and hard work of Mick Lawless from South Dublin Cycling Club. It is a dedicated cycling facility providing a safe, traffic free environment in which to learn skills, improve fitness, train and race.

Sunny spells with a slight wind awaited all riders as they waited for the start of the 26km race. Conor set off in the novice group with a slight advantage on the chasing experienced group. Conor acquitted himself very well getting into a few breaks and managed to finish 2nd in the novice bunch sprint. Well done Conor all the training is paying off.

Next junior race in Corkagh Park is April 1st.
