The Leinster Youth and Masters cycling championships were staged in Dunsany, Co. Meath last Sunday and once again Lakeside Wheelers members were on the podium.

In the A4’s Mossie and Ian Lambden went to the line full of hope however a crash put paid to Ian’s plans but Mossie fared better and took an excellent 4th place.

The Youths once again made their presence felt with Aoife O’Brien putting in a storming finish to take 1st place in the U/16’s with a strong sprint finish. Former Wheeler, Sean Kennedy (NRPT) did very well in the Junior race coming home in 2nd place which leaves him in a great position with the season coming to a close as he was on the top step of the podium last week in Wexford. Sean is travelling with his team to a race in Brittany, France next week and we wish him all the best for that trip.
