Its been great following Damien Shaw's progress at the Championships and by all accounts it was a big success. Damien and Andy rode well throughout the qualifiers and were able to go faster than their predicted times in both events, the 1km and 4km persuit.

Also competing at the Championships was Tullamore Cycling clubs Fran Meehan and her partner Catherine Walshe, Fran is Pilot on the tandem with Catherine. Fran is avery talented cyclist who I started racing with a few years ago. Fran particularly likes to race time trials or persuit on the track and with Catherine won the World Dualthon Championships last year. Fran and Catherine did a great job out in Italy and came home with a Bronze medal in the Persuit, some achievement!
