It is that time of the year again so all roads lead to the Greville Arms hotel on Friday night for the Lakeside Wheelers Christmas party.

Proceedings will kick off at about 9.00pm with prize giving from the club activities during the year. These will include the annual awards for Best Newcomer, Most Improved Rider and the prestigious, Club Person of the Year. The winner of the latter will be presented with the perpetual “Bike” trophy which is an impressive sculpture of a racing bike and has been one of the most sought after prizes for many years.

Then, to finish off the formalities, and before the mayhem begins, there will be the announcement of a new Club President. Who this will be is a closely guarded secret but whoever it goes to will have a tough act to follow. The outgoing President, Mr Oliver Bright has given three years of dedicated service attending every committee meeting and offering his valuable experience. So, on behalf of all members of Lakeside Wheelers, well done, and thanks to Ollie and best wishes to the new President.

Turkey Trot:
While we are on the subject of seasonal festivities it is a good time to remind everybody about the annual Turkey Trot. This social spin takes place (weather permitting) every December 27th and depending on your outlook, it is a great opportunity to either shed a few pounds or make way for some more turkey and ham sambos. This year we will be back in New Forest Golf Club for the coffee and scones. The Turkey Trot will depart the clubhouse at 10am sharp.
