New Faces on Beginners Spins

posted 25 Jul 2011, 03:04 by Kevin Monaghan
Arthur Dempsey lead a 14 strong beginners group on Saturday morning. First time beginner spin participants Steven, Anthony and Mary Marshall all completed the 40km route with ease. Also on the spin were Marie O’Sullivan, Olive Bartley, Vivienne Fitzpatrick and Cathy Flynn who have been on the spins for the past few months. It was great to see David Coroon, piloted by father Peter out enjoying the fine morning. Some more experienced riders also joined in enjoying the leisurely pace to Tyrellspass Castle and back.
The picture attached was taken at Tyrellspass Castle after a well-deserved tea stop.
The beginner spins have been running since the beginning of the year. It is a great opportunity for new people to join as it caters for all abilities, leaving nobody behind. Thanks to Arthur and the experienced  members on the rota who gave advice and encouragement every week. Hope to see more new faces next week. The beginner spin leaves ORS car park (at Marlinstown roundabout) at 9am on Saturday mornings.
