Murray 7th in Tough Drogheda Race

We had four riders participating in Drogheda on Sunday - Steve Franzoni, John Murray, Mark O’Hara and Stuart Cox. The race was held over 4 laps of a tough 13 mile circuit and as usual our lads were in the thick of it from the start.

After a series of relentless break away attempts and some desperate chasing, John Murray finished in an incredible 7th position overall and when you consider the company the lads were in, this is a fantastic result. The race was won by professional rider David McCann of the Giant Asia team and also included the likes of Neil Delahaye and Colm Cassidy from Usher. Not to be outshone, Steve finished 4th unplaced A2 and Mark came home 3rd unplaced A3 with Stuart hanging in to the main peloton.

Well done lads and hopefully there are more honours still to be claimed by Wheelers in what has been a fabulous year for the racers. Please see our forum for Dave Fagan’s full race report as well as some other events that Wheelers were taking part in last weekend.
