(By Conor Isdell) As part of the Audax Ireland calendar Lakeside Wheelers are hosting the inaugural Midland Meander 200km event. An Audax event differs from normal sportive events in several respects as follows:
The route is a challenging one with close on 2,000 metres of climbing. This route needs to be treated with respect to ensure completion. A brief synopsis of the event is as follows: Date: Sunday 19th May, 2013 Time: 8.00am Sharp (average finishing time including breaks about 6pm) Start/Finish: Village of Multyfarnham Distance: 200km Entry Fee: €5.00 Route: Multyfarnham to Crookedwood to Gartlangstown - Back roads to Castlepollard – Collinstown – Oldcastle via Lough Crew – Ballinagh – Arvagh – Aughnacliffe – Corn Hill – Ballinalee – Edgeworthstown – Carrickboy – Abbeyschrule – Ballymahon – Ballymore – Streamstown – Dysart – Ballinea Bridge – Walshestown Church – Frewen Hill – Bunbrosna and back into Multyfarnham. ![]() Entry form and rules are attached below.
