On Friday last (23rd November) we held our Club AGM in the Annebrook House Hotel. The meeting had an excellent turnout with up to eighty members in attendance. It was a  well organised night and the time flew by as we all heard from all the respective officers from the committee. A few points that stood out from the meeting were that we are now officially the largest cycling club in Ireland with over 450 members young and not so young! With so many young members in the club youth officer Robbie Kenny gave us an excellent run down on all the hard work that has been done throughout the year and also emphasised on the fact that these sprocket rockets and juniors are the future of our club.

In his final speech of the night club Chairman Dermot Hogan thanked the outgoing committee for all their hard work throughout the season and asked all members to remember the ethos of the club and that the club would be nothing without to all the volunteers who have helped out throughout the year.  Dermot urged newer members to follow the suit of other members and come along to assist when needed. No matter how little you think you can contribute your help is always needed. Dermot also reminded us that cycling is above all else to be enjoyed and that we should remember the three F’s Fitness, Friendship and Fun when we take to the bike next.  Thanks also to Noel Delaney and Mick Reynolds for organising the shop on the night where plenty of bargains were to be had on club gear.
