With the 2016 Tour de France now heading into its final week there has, as usual, been no shortage of spectacular scenery, great racing and controversy. A group of eight Wheelers made the trip to the famous Pyrenees for five days to catch the race on the iconic Col de Tourmalet. The Tour is widely recognised as one of the greatest sporting events in the world and the travelling Wheelers were not disappointed.

The lads “enjoyed” five great days of cycling in this mighty mountain range in temperatures that we can only wish for here. Over the course of the trip the group ticked off a lot of famous Cols including the monstrous Hautacam, the Tourmalet, theLuz Ardiden, the Solour and the Aubisque.

These are monumental climbs in Tour de France history and have played their part in several big finishes over the years. The Wheelers found out every day just why this is the case as they fought and struggled to get over every leg breaking kilometre. Despite the pain and the hardship everybody enjoyed the Pyrenean adventure and already here are plans afoot for a return trip in 2017.
