Tour Of The Midlands
After a call to arms on the wheelers Facebook page, and numerous conversations, a large number of Wheelers assembled early in Tullamore to tackle the 120 km that was on offer.

We gathered in the coral for safety briefing and away we went. Towards Mountmellick at a steady pace into a slight headwind, turning towards Clonaslee and the first climb, up the Cut - 7 km at 5% again steady pace.  This is were we had our first puncture and then at the bottom of the decent we had the second.

We then headed up the Wolftrap climb from an unusual side, normally being used to the other side, but have to say preferred the climb from the Cut side. We descended into the tea stop in Kinnitty, with a near miss on the rock face on a turn, and plenty of speed, we enjoyed a quick stop.

Karl seemed to have taken something as he headed to Birr at break-neck speed but we all stuck together and turned for Tullamore again, gathering a few more bodies before returning to were we started, 120 km in the tank and pain in our legs.

Great spin, well done to all who took part.
