All club spins left ORS as normal and returned to Multyfarnham for 11am for a tea stop and/or hill climb. Robbie Kenny and Mick Reynolds organised the experienced underage riders to come on a spin so they could be in Multyfarnham and take part. The strong head wind and a belly full of scones meant conditions were not ideal for an easy run up to the finish at Wilsons School. From the C-group there were experienced riders like Jim Marshall, John Culligan, Arthur Dempsey and Oliver Bright on the start line. Vivianne Fitzpatrick joined the lads to set a very good time as the second fastest lady. Well done to Seamus Clarke who was the fastest rider from the C-Group. In the B-group was Gareth Butler posted the best time followed by John Tully and Eamon Hogan. Paula Murray put her best foot forward to set the time for the fastest lady in the event. In the A-group Stuart Cox was the fastest followed by Eoghan Kevlihan and Brian Collentine. The most impressive ride of the event was posted by Eoin Lynch, who has been through the clubs junior program with Robbie Kenny, Mick Reynolds and company, and posted a fantastic time of 4:19. Have a look at the results to see the number of A-group riders whose time Eoin bettered. Well done Eoin. Also well done to the underage riders David Hynes, Cian Humphries, Sean Duigenan, Eoin Ashe and Thomas Kilmurray who took part after their spin. Great times were posted by the lads many whom were tackling the hill for the first time and remarkably David and Cian actually set the same fastest time. A full set of results are attached. Thanks to George Bell Jnr., Wendy Bates, Michelle Culligan and Cathy Horohoe who were not cycling but came out to Multifarnham to help run the event. |
