Breakfast In bed on Mother's DAy
When I sat down to map out a route for the Sunday morning spin, I was conscious of two things. 1. How am I going to organise breakfast in bed for the mammy of the house and still get out in time for the 9.00am spin, I just don’t do multitasking. The answer to this was easy, get the kids to cook the breakie while I get changed…. sweet. 2. Will there be anyone interested in a club spin the morning after Paddy’s Day. The answer to this was in the number of members that turned up this morning.

The route would be 65 km but would allow anyone wanting to go further to do so. Fifty cyclists made up the B Group. After being split up into our relevant groups, we headed for the Castlepollard road. Turning at Donnelly’s corner we headed for Cloughan and onto Killucan and Raharney. If Bord Failte were out with us this morning, selling holidays in Ireland would be an easy task. This island of ours is beautiful; sometimes it’s as simple as being on a bike, on a Sunday makes you appreciate this very point. Yet another benefit of being involved in this great club. Heading for Drumcree and onto Collinstown we had a break for tea (as coffee ran out!)

With some of the group wanting to put in an extra few km, they headed for Castlepollard. Leaving two groups to for home via Gartlandstown, Crookedwood and onto Mullingar. Landing home nice and early with 65km of great roads, great hills, great scenery and great weather.
