Cycling Ireland AGM

Cycling Ireland LogoThis meeting was held in Dublin last Saturday with the club represented by Chairman, Joe Duffy, Secretary, Jerry Waugh along with Philip Wade, Henry Winston and Shay O’Toole. 

A full report can be accessed on the federation’s website but in brief, the main points which will effect riders were...
  1. An increase in Cycling Ireland membership for Non-Competition Licence holders from 35 Euro to 40 Euro with a discount to 32 Euro if Direct Debit payment is used. 
  2. Introduction of a new Family membership for 65 Euro for two adults and two youths (U/16). 
  3. Reinstatement of the Road Commission with a temporary working group set up to look at issues such as Juniors in A3 races and the ongoing road safety/marshalling at road races. 
  4. The announcement that the tendering process for the new national velodrome has been given the green light by government and finally, the election of a new President, Mr Ciaran McKenna.
