The club Christmas party was held last Friday night in Danny Byrne’s. Once again a great crowd turned out for this annual social and awards presentation.

Big winners on the night were Davy Boyne who collected the cup for winning the Summer race league, Kevin Nolan who won the Days Bazaar Cup for the best newcomer, David Casserly collected the most improved rider award whilst Philip Wade was voted Club Person of the year and brought home the highly coveted James Marshal trophy. Well done to all who were more than worthy winners in their respective categories.

Following these awards, club secretary, Jerry Waugh made a presentation to his predecessor, Muirna Walsh who has departed Mullingar to join Orwell Wheelers in Dundrum. Muirna served on the committee for four years, being secretary for two and although she is still a regular visitor to Mullingar she will be sorely missed by all her Lakeside Wheelers friends.

Thanks to club member, Donie Kelleher, who was the official photographer on the night and to all the staff in Danny’s.
