I spoke to Ronan Bracken on Saturday afternoon who gave me the run down on the A4 race in Lucan that morning. It was great to hear that we had so many new racers from the club out including Damien O’Brien who got a fantastic 4th place, Conor Eighan, Dave Bright amongst others enjoying their first year in the peloton. Ken Berry got into a break with a couple of other riders at 5km to go and was unlucky not to stay away, it looks like Ken has the strength to get away from the bunch as he usually figures in any break group. Mossy was unfortunate to fall just before the line in a perfect position for the sprint, it looks like he is coming into some good form.

Sunday's race was in Dundalk, John Murray had success in the A1 A2 race finishing 8th overall and 1st A2. The girls had the first of the National league which had a field of nearly 40 run over 51km. The wheelers attacked repeatedly on the climb trying to get a break going but it wasn’t to be. Muirna rode another strong race, dropped up the climb for the last time she put her head down and caught the group again, a serious effort!
