Big Numbers at the ORS

Another bumper week for the Wheelers in terms in numbers of members out cycling. Once again within the B Group we had to split into 3 groups with Michelle taking the faster B's while Joe Duffy and myself split the remainder to keep within the group size limit which is 14. All told over 40 B's were present. The A and the C Group had significant numbers out as well.
With the realisation that the Spring Spin to Sligo (and back) in aid of the North Westmeath Hospice is only a few short weeks away many wheelers were trying to get the extra miles to ensure that they survive it! The weather was promised to brighten up but that didn't really materialise. However all were in good form. Carmel Dolan, who is only back a few weeks after badly breaking her elbow last summer, was showing that she is returning to very good form and promised to buy me coffee at the break next week if I gave her a mention in the notes.

Every week more and more new faces are appearing at the ORS on a Sunday, having come through the Saturday beginners program, full of enthusiasm and vigour. Isn't it great to see. Just take a drive out any road from Mullingar any day of the week and you are sure to meet a group of wheelers, be it 2 or 10 cyclists, enjoying the sport (and the not to be underestimated resulting health benefits) So if you want to have more energy, feel good about yourself and fit into those pair of jeans that were just a bit too tight why not contact the Wheelers and get started. All levels are catered full and we do have great craic as well!

As for the boring bit the route today was Rochfortbridge, Rhode, Daingean, Tullamore and home and the total mileage was 56.5 miles.
