Junior Cyclists
This week the juniors group set out from Outdoor Escape at the new time of 9.00am. There was a group of twelve riders this week, Eoin Ashe, Conor Canton, Shane Hughes, Ross Kiernan, Thomas Kilmurray, Jayson Reynolds, Ian Lambden, Eoin Lynch and Matthew Carroll made up the junior riders which were accompanied by Mark Monaghan, Robbie Kenny and Mick Reynolds.

Kinnegad was the destination for the day so we set out into a moderate head wind. On the way we met a few heavy rain showers (as usual) but our spirits were not dampened as we made our way along the back roads through Russlestown and Coralstown with conversations and laughs being shared by all. We made good use of the straight roads into Kinnegad by practising our sprinting techniques.

We stopped and regrouped on the outskirts of Kinnegad and decided to push on to Clonard where we stopped to fill up our bottles and get some food. We made great time back to Mullingar using the tail wind to our advantage and staying in the 'up and over' formation the whole way back. There was of course a bit of racing at the end of the spin with Thomas and Shane making a break across the Joe Dolan Bridge but we all pulled in to Outdoor Escape together with 55km in the legs with an average speed of 29.5km/h.

Usual meeting time of 9.00am in outdoor escape next Saturday.
