Hill Climb Sunday 26th September

posted 20 Sept 2010, 01:10 by Kevin Monaghan   [ updated 26 Sept 2010, 14:08 ]

The last club event of this year is the Club Hill Climb which takes place next Sunday, September 26th, in Multifarnham.

The Sunday morning club spin will start as normal from ORS car park at 9.00am. The group leaders have again agreed to set a route so as to allow the group return through Multifarnham village at 11.15am. People can decide if the they wish to take part in the hill climb (we hope everyone would give it a go) and have their tea and scone in Weirs pub after their climb or the other option is go straight for the tea and scones in Weirs and continue their spin back to Mullingar. The first rider off will be at 11.30. Thanks to Weirs Pub in Multifarnham who will open early (11.15am) to facilitate the tea stop for those heading straight back to Mullingar and then for the other riders after their run on the hill climb.

The course is from just outside Multifarnham Village to the entrance of Wilsons school (approx 2 km). There are two parts to the hill with a flat section in between at the level crossing. Riders will start at one minute intervals from 11.30am. For anyone unfamiliar with a hill climb it is basically a very short time trial on a hilly course.

It should only take a few minutes for each person to do their time and there will be great spectating along the course. So why no encourage the people you usually leave at home on a Sunday morning, to come and see you in action, shout some encouragement and join the club for tea in Weirs?

Prizes for the fastest riders in each group will be presented at the Christmas Party – but it is just a bit of fun for all members of the club.

Attached on this email are some pictures and results from last year.
If there are one or two people free to give a hand next Sunday would they give me a call/email during the week.
