With the Criterium championships and the Two-Day done and dusted for another year, the club’s attentions will now switch to our annual sportive The Tour of the Lakes on July 15th. This year’s route will cover the same roads as last year with options to shorten your route if needs be. 

Once again the start and finish will be the excellent facilities of The Downs GAA clubhouse. For the lads from our racing fraternity it’s time to step up to the mark and show our appreciation for all the work done over the weekend and help out with the running of this popular event. 

 

Event details are as follows:-

Date: Sunday July 15th  Sign-on: from 9.00am  1st group departs: 10:00am  Riders will start in 3 groups (travelling at different speeds).  Group 1 (Average speed ~ 20mph / 32km/h)  Group 2 (Average speed ~ 17mph / 28km/h)  Group 3 (Average speed ~ 15mph / 24km/h)    Each group will have lead riders, control lead car and back-up van.  Routes: 95km or 110km - see map   Downloadable Information sheet and route map avaiable below.   Tour of The Lakes 2012 Route Tour of The Lakes 2012 Route
