Members can then decide if the they wish to take part in the hill climb (we hope everyone would give it a go) and have their tea and scone in Weir's pub in Multyfarnham after their climb or go straight for the tea and scones in Weirs and then continue their Sunday spin. Thanks to Weirs Pub who will open early to facilitate the tea stop for those heading straight back to Mullingar and then for the other riders after their run on the hill climb. The first rider will be off at 11.20. The course is from Multyfarnham village to the entrance of Wilson's Hospital school (approx 2.5km). There are two parts to the hill with a flat/downhill section in between at the level crossing. Riders will start in one minute intervals from 11.20am. For anyone unfamiliar with a hill climb it is basically a very short time trial on a hilly course. It should only take a few minutes for each person to complete their climb and there will be great spectating along the course. Prizes will be presented at the Christmas Party for the fastest rider in each of the A, B and C groups. The Hill Climb event is designed to be a fun event and suitable for members of all abilities on the Sunday spin. We hope as many people as possible will take part and have the tea/coffee stop in Weir's afterwards. Follow the links below for pictures from previous hill climbs... |
